Rescuing the Ranch!
This project was a total re-build of an existing ranch house in west Cobb County. The goal of this project was to convert an existing ranch into a two-story French country cottage. The program include a new steeper roof with two new bedrooms, bumping out the Living Room/Foyer and adding a covered entry The owners also wanted to turn the carport into a Family Room and add a three car garage. The original idea was to keep the original brickwork and masonry fireplace, but do all of the additions in stone and timber. The final design was also to save on cost by minimizing the amount of foundation work. This had the added benefit of keeping the grading and site work to a minimum.
